Termination Stage of Change
The termination stage of change marks the phase when you no longer require conscious maintenance of new behaviours.
The new behaviours that you have been nurturing have become habitual due to the constant reinforcement of the benefits associated with change.
At this stage you will have effectively overcome your previous problems and demonstrate the following characteristics:
- High self-esteem.
- Low social anxiety.
- A internal sense of control and agency over your life.
Termination is the stage you arrive at after successfully maintaining new behaviours and managing lapses.
